Here and There of Multiculturalism
Multicultural mania has been around for a while now. And for just about as long, authors and essayists have been denigrating it. They've expended much time, logic and ink providing the intellectual whys and wherefores for its beginnings, intentions and direction. Yet, by-and-large, citizens of the United States remain ignorant about its roots and ramifications. The Waking Bear© has no intention of reinventing the "wheels" of the many authors that have covered the subject in great detail. For anyone interested in getting an in depth look at the subject, we direct your attention to: Migrations & Cultures - A World View; written by Thomas Sowell and published in 1996 by Basic Books, a Division of Harper Collins Publishers, Inc.
The professed interest of multi-culturalists is the recognition of cultural diversity surrounding us all.
Unfortunately, in the process of achieving this reasonable objective, many have chosen to use multiculturalism to mask efforts to advance the acceptance of homosexuality, and/or demean and minimize the significant impact western European civilization has had on mankind's social, scientific and economic advancements.
It wasn't that long ago, for instance in 1992, that the multicultural elitists referred to the adventurous explorer Christopher Columbus as a "barbarous, exploitive Indian killer."
The Waking Bear© therefore provides an ever-lengthening list of articles and essays. They will reflect upon the real world conditions of nations and cultures that the otherwise unemployable multi-culturalists choose to describe with, proverbial, rose colored lenses.
