Comparison of Tenured TVCSD Teacher Salaries

For the last few years, the Waking Bear has published an ever-updated article about the Three Village Central School District's "5-4-3 Club." When it was first released, with much fanfare and teacher union president - Sheila MacFadyen's - panic at a school board meeting, the then reigning and feigning Queen of Naught - Mary Barter - and BOE retinue banned its distribution. But, before all copies were ordered swept from view, several dozen did get into the hands of people attending the meeting. And, as the board meeting began in earnest, a man stood to say that he "took exception to the bombastic and insulting-to-teacher rhetoric of the document but found the information presented of concern and worthy of public concern." The Board essentially responded by saying "Uh, huh." and moved on to more pressing issues....

Please take note of the much larger increases accruing to those with less than 17 years seniority. This is because they receive at least an annual contracted salary increases of 3% or more PLUS a Step [Seniority] bonus for each of their first 16 years of district service. But don't do any fretting for those with 17 and more years, they're hardly starving, as they grow eligible for as much as $105,000 by the end of the most recent contract.

False and Misleading TVCSD Information:

The following letter was today, June 15th, sent to the Superintendent of the Three Village Central School District - John Sonedecker - because of the unfortunately overzealous efforts of himself and the President of the Board of Education - William Connors - to support a school budget not in the interests of the greater community.

"We Asked for a Sign." We Got Five Thousand, from the TVTA.

One week before the last budget vote, rumors began to pour into our email box. They suggested that the Three Village Teachers Association [TVTA] was making an effort to suppress their own memberships' voting on May 16th. The point? To send a message to the Board of Education and District Superintendent that, "You'll never get a budget passed... without our help."
